Staff Selection Commission (SSC) organizes a Combined Graduate Level exam every year for the recruitment of eligible candidates at multiple levels in various ministries and central government departments. Solving reasoning questions can be tricky unless you have sufficient practice. As you go on practicing, you will develop new tricks of your own to tackle the questions.Start with topics such as series, coding- decoding, figure-based questions, and puzzles etc. that are easy and scoring. You will see that your accuracy has improved a lot due to consistent practice. Non- verbal reasoning topics may seem time- consuming but it is advisable to practice more of these type questions since they are easy to solve when practiced hard.

The most difficult and time- consuming part of the exam is the quantitative aptitude section. To gain expertise over this section, candidates should start their preparation with easy areas such as percentages, ratio and proportion, age-problems, and simplification as these are easy scoring topics. Go through previous question papers to analyze the nature of the exam. Try to learn the formulas by heart while practicing.

You will have to practice vocabulary, grammar and comprehension parts to gain expertise over this section. In comprehensions, read the questions before going to the passage, this will help you in know the answers while reading the passage. Prepare synonyms and antonyms for words properly. It is advised to go through previous question papers as the pattern of the English section is the same.

The most scoring section of this exam is the general awareness part. Preparing for this section thoroughly helps you in saving time during the exam which can be utilized for the other sections. Prepare for topics such as current affairs, static GK pertaining to culture, Indian history, environment, politics, and economics. Make short notes to remember facts, occurrence of events, dates to make your revision process easier.
